Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise on higher participation

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose slightly by 35 paise to Rs 308 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for January delivery edged up by 35 paise in a business turnover of 5,218 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels, even as a lack of fresh triggers kept overall sentiment cautious.
Aluminium up marginally in futures trade
Aluminium prices rose marginally to Rs 297.20 per kg in futures trade as market participants stayed on the sidelines amid subdued market activity. Aluminium for delivery in January went up by 25 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 297.20 per kg in 4,430 lots.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 5.10 to Rs 1,290.60 per kg due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for January delivery grew marginally by 0.4 per cent in a turnover of 13,271 lots.
